Rare tooth
The Otodus Sokolovi shark lived +/- 47 to 28 million years ago. It was probably a transition species between the Otodus auriculatus and Otodus angustidens shark. Teeth of this sturdy shark species are rarely found and are characterised by their size and the serrations on their sides. They are popular collector's items.
Location
The shark teeth were found in Dakhla, a peninsula in Western Sahara. The region is known for its shark tooth finds from the Eocene. Fossil sea urchins from the Pliocene are also found here.
