Chibuku mine
These crystals were recently found in the Chibuku mine in Zimbabwe and are named after the Shangaan tribal area in which the mine is located. The crystals are characterised by their beautiful crystal shapes. Double terminated crystals and sceptres are not uncommon. The crystal often occurs in a combination of amethyst and smoky quartz and also contains traces of hematite. In the more rare cases there are even bubbles of water or petroleum trapped inside. These are called enhydros.
Ethically extracted
The shangaan amethyst is dug up by the locals. Here there are a number of specific rules set by the chief to protect the nature in which they are found. For example, 5 trees have to be planted for every tree that is cut down and every hole that is dug has to be filled again.
Elestial quartz with female energy
The shangaan amethyst is an elestial quartz with natural lines and layers in the crystal. It contains a strong feminine energy that brings out self-confidence and personal power. The crystal is seen as a master healer that creates personal transformation.
