Pink amethyst or chalcedony?
These special stones have been given the name ‘pink amethyst’ in which they are known in the market. Actually, this name is not quite right. The crystals are often from amethyst and have a (light) purple colour. The pink colour is caused by hematite compounds in chalcedony. Actually, it is a pink chalcedony slice in which some purple amethyst crystals can be found.
