The Arizona crater (or Barringer crater) is without a doubt the most impressive meteorite crater on Earth with a diameter of 1300 meters and a depth of 170 meters. The crater is located in the Arizona desert and can even be seen from space. Arizona Crater was the first crater believed not to have been formed by volcanic activity. Research has been going on for almost a century and a research institute still stands today.

Mega Asteroid

The Canyon Diablo meteorite falls into the Nickel-Iron class and is believed to have been a wandering asteroid in the belt between Mars and Jupiter. Scientists have calculated that the meteorite had a diameter of 50 meters and that it impacted at a speed of 18 km per second. Due to the dry climate, the pieces of meteorite are still remarkably well preserved after all this time.
